i recently bought a color ink cartridge for photo printing...and even when the settings are set to color before i print, i always get a photo printed in grayscale...it's getting very annoying, because i have ran a test print and color showed up in all the right places, but i can't seem to get anything to print in color! None of my settings are in grayscale, and all the color settings i can find are set to color exactly how i want them but nothing...no color. i thought maybe i had the cartridge inthe wrong side, but it's supposed to be on the right side, so i have given up all hope. I can't get support through the phone becasue i am an american that lives overseas...and the u.s. support lines for HP will not help me becasue i do not have a u.s. address and phone number...and the country i'm in does not have a hp help site that is in english! someone please help me...im desperate.

When you go to print a colour document do you use the ctrl p command as in go to file and select print? The default settings are probably set in grayscale.
Go to a page you want to print and click file/print. Then when the printer comes up select preferences and you should see this come up. ![]() You can change the default settings by going to control panel/printers, right click your printer, select properties then preferences.
