Hi -
I got an Lexmark x5270 printer and about a week, week and a half ago I bought two new cartidges 1 black and one color. All was working fine I have been printing with no problem. Then all the sudden just about an hour ago I went to go print some stuff up (which was all text) and it would not print. The printer turned itself off. So I turned it off then on and tried to print. This time it acted like it was printing but none of the black text printed at all just some that was in red. So I get a popup box saying something was wrong and that I need to do the follow. Basically it told me to turn off the printer, open it up, turn it on take out the cartidages and put them back in and close. I did that now my black ink cartidage is reading as "invalid" I don't know why this and I know I have the right cartidge and everything and it is only the black that is effected not the color. I just got the dumb thing so why is this happening? I would really appreciate the help. Also no it is not a counterfit cartrideg or cheap knockoff or anything like that I bought it the store. |

I think since this printer is brand new and already having problems, it should be returned and replaced.
There is a chance you got a bad ink cartridge. You may try taking it back and try another one. I have had brand new cartridges not work at all or die very quickly. In most cases they will swap them.
