Suprised Maddening multi sheet-feed problem (very mysterious!)

Grabbing more than one sheet problem appears on 6110xi, 3710xi Inkjets & Brother ML 5240 Laser! Printers never fail to grab, it's just that they're too greedy.

First on 6110xi, got 3710xi from Costco - same. Changed 3710xi to ML 5240 - same! Printer will take one or two pages, sometimes as many as ten, then bingo grabs two, three or four sheets that ruins whole print job.

Have tried different paper manufacturers - HP; Xerox; Hammermill - different types - multipurpose, different weights (20lb & 24lb). Talked several times with HP techs. Tried many different paper settings at MS Print command. No solution.

Thought electrostatic cling, fanned pages etc. Most printer hardware appears plastic. HP printers not grounded (2-wire power cord). Brother ML 5240 is 3-wire.

Seems to dumbass me that is not printer per say since three different models effected. Also, can find no record of this problem on various forums.

Envionment is normal indoor in Southern Oregon. PC is Dell that works fine. No evidence of anything other than normal static - don't get zapped when touch metal etc.

Help! Please someone out there solve this mystery!

Might be the paper pick up rollers??

How many pages have these printers passed? What is the page count?

May also be an issue with Temp/Humidity as well?

You can get parts for most HP printers easily and most of the time paper pick up rollers are easy to install??

Is the 3710 really a 3710 or a 7130?

May also be an issue with the age of the units and if they have ever been stored in a hot place like a storage unit or attic?
