Ink cartidge creating problem
Hi,
Just wanted some help with my printer. I have the HP Deskjet 3420 model and I recently bought new ink cartidges (Black and colour). The problem I am having is that if I put both my Black and Colour cartidges in their slot, my printer doesn't work. But if I put only my Colour cartidge in its slot, the printer starts to work. How do I know that the black cartidge is creating problem? When I put the black and the colour cartidge in, the Printer's light blinks which means that the printer isn't ready to print yet. But when I put only the colour cartidge in, the light doesn't blink which means the printer is ready to print. I've had this printer for almost 3 years now and it was working fine until now. I've replaced ink numerous times so I am not new at this. I know I could try replacing the Black ink cartidge, but you know it's kind of expensive so I don't wanna waste the ink I have. Any help on this will be very much appreciated. |

Check and clean the contacts where the ink tanks fit in. Gunk could prevent or interefere with the communication between the tank and the printer.
