Dell A920 Won't Print With Blk Refills

Hello,

I have been using my Dell A920 all-in-one printer connected to a Dell Pentium running Windows XP for a couple of years. I recently started refilling my own cartridges using Dell compatible ink. A month ago, I refilled a cartridge, but inserted it while the cartridge was leaking Black ink. It worked fine until the ink ran out. Now, no refilled cartridges work. It prints nothing on the paper (blank). Help............ What is wrong? I have 4-5 refilled black cartridges & none work. BStarks@ecrinc.com.

Thanks!

Check to see if you got ink on the electronic contacts. This would keep the cartridges from talking to the printer.

Thanks for the info. I've tried gently cleaning the electronic contacts. Didn't work. As a test, I'll buy a new Dell cartridge to see if this works.

i had this problem a few months ago, i used to refil the cartridges instead of buying new ones, and every time i've had to get a new printer because of that refill, my friends dad printer does the same, he keeps haveing to buy a new printer, so he just gave up, and started buying cartridges from the store. so i would recomend you not re-fill them, it ruins the printers. have no clue why they're still around.

The manufactors do not want you to refill carts. They are making it harder with the newer printers.
I do not use refills and advise people not to do so. You may get away with it on some older printers.
