We bought a Canon MF5770 for our small office and have recently discovered that the scanning funtion cannot be accessed via network printing (which is how it is configured) but rather only by USB.
At least this is the general impression I get, from reading the manual. In all other respects, this machine performs perfectly. It was rated the number one AIO copier in it's class by PCWorld for two consecutive years and we haven't found one single flaw except this one. It just doens't seem reasonable that so good a copier can't do scanning over a network. Could someone confirm that this is the case (or not) and if so, provide some kind of explanation as to why (in layman's terms) this is, or has to be ? Because to me it does not seem to be too great of a stretch to incorporate this feature (scanning over network) into what otherwise would be a perfect piece of office equipment. |
