Cry Printing problem

Hi when printing a 4X6 picture, the printer starts the first 5% in true colour and the the rest seems to loose the colour, it seems a pale reddy colour, I can only think it must be the info being sent to the printer, anyone know of this problem ???
I have a epson 830 photo printer.
I have the epson software and also installed a additional kodak programme to suit the 4X6 paper I have bought.
I have been through all the preferences for printing to make sure there is no conflict eg: settings are the same as the kodak pref .
I might try reinstalling the epson software, but if you have any ideas I would appreciate .

Try printing a test page, cleaning the ink cartridge or replacing the ink cartridge.

Hi sorry I havent replied, no one responded so I lost hope.
I still have problem, replacing the cartridge etc doesnt make any difference.
I have 2 gb ram, I dont think it is anything to do with the computer not having enough resorces, as it is quite a high spec computer.

Any more ideas...
Thanks

Printer Problems?

Well, I think maybe you should check the headers on it. They may have dried out from not using it frequently (meaning everyday and so many times each day). and if you have tried everything like replacing the cartridges and cleaning it then I would advise to just buy another type of photo printer but make sure you do a little research on it before doing so. Dont get another Espon printer again. Canons are great photo printers. Maybe you should look into getting one of those.

If you dont want to buy another one then you can get someone that fixes printers to replace the headers because the headers are part of the printer and not part of the cartridges.

Well I wish you luck on this!

Well - first u need to check whether this printer has print heads or not - there are two types of technologies - 1) Carts with prints heads inbuilt and 2) Just the cart with print heads installed seperately.

Look for the capping station - the station where the cart rests when ur not printing. The carts are not capped or the nozzles are not sealed properly and each time u install a new cart it gets destroyed and u get bad print quality.
