HP Officejet V40 on Windows 2000 Pro
I have an HP Officejet V40 All-In-One. I managed to install and get this printer to work fine on XP Home, however I cannot get it to work on Windows 2000. When I first installed it, Windows picked it up and I managed to install the software fine. However then the computer stops picking up the printer, it acts as if its not there. I uninstall all the software, plug the printer in and Windows picks it up at "Unknown Device" or not at all, so I install all the software and it still doesn't work.
Any help with this please? Thanks. Daniel. |

Try plugging it into another USB port. For someone reason that seems to work for me most of the time.

Re: HP Officejet V40 on Windows 2000 Pro
i'm a pc tech. i had an unknown device problem with an hp all in one officejet with xp, i fixed it by changing the usb cable, maybe to a usb 1 cable instead of the usb 2 cable, i suggest you try it.
