Hi,
I recently purchased a Canon IP5000 and although its a great machine I am having a few problems with print quality. Printing on Canon paper with Canon ink I am getting vertical sections as you look at the final printed image (therefore horizontal at printing stage) of what I would describe as about 1/2 cm thick faded printing (with some white lines) at regular intervals of about 1 1/2 inches. Its as if when the print head is going across it gets lazy at certain points . These are not as noticable on colourful busy images but they are noticable on any image with solid colours. Any help would be great Thanks, Marie |

Just an update from me. Amazon have informed me that it is indeed a wider problem than just the two printers I have received and as they need to make further enquiries with Canon they cannot send another replacement as it would more than likely have the same problem as its from the same batch of stock so they have refunded me Both Amazon and Canon have been very friendly about the whole situation and although it is a pain that I have to return another printer and will now be printerless for the time being at least I know that I havent just been REALLY unlucky
So for anyone thinking of buying a ip5000 it might be worth waiting just a little while. |

Re: Canon ip5000 printing problems - Any help please?
I have had a similar problem when using PhotoSuite (MGI) and found that when I changed to HP to do my printing and used high resolution I did not have the problem. I now use Iphoto to print as I have added a iMAC and I have no problem.
