HP 1510 and Vista
I just bought a new laptop with Windows Vista, to which I connected my HP 1510 3-in-1 printer which was previously connected to an XP machine.
It printed fine until I discovered I couldn' print double-sided, so I went looking for a Vista compatible driver. Now my printouts are missing about 1/4" on one side, and every attempt to modify the document, margins, print area, etc... have failed. Any suggestions? |

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
The Vista drivers and software are available on the manufacturers webpage. However, you should uninstall all drivers and software listed in Add and Remove Programs. Reboot, and then install the Vista drivers/software.

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
Please go to Control Panel, Printers and right click the name of the printer and choose properties, look for advance tab. You can see that option from there. Choose double sisded as installed from that tab.

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it. UNfortunately they are not answering my question so I will re-state it for clarity.
My HP 1510, which I had been using on my former computer (Windows XP) for 3 years was working fine. Then I moved it to a laptop with Windows Vista and I could no longer get it to print double-sided, as well as other features no longer worked. The driver it came with was not compatible with Vista, so I found and installed the Vista-compatible driver I found on the HP website. Since then, I AM able to print double-sided, but my printouts are missing about a quarter inch on one side, and avery attempt to adjust the margins, print area, etc, have failed to produce a correct document. The document in particular is a Microsoft Word document with table borders that go around within the margins, but the get cut off on one side. At first I thought it was my new Microsoft Office 2007 that was the culprint, but that document printed fine on another computer. I am convinced that the new driver for my printer is preventing my document from printing correctly. SHort of buying a Vista-compatible printer, is there any information out there on how to fix this so I can print at home? |

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
And I agree it's a driver issue. Hence my suggestion to remove and reinstall all software and drivers. Printers are so cheap, there is no reason for anyone to invest the money to update drivers for outdated hardware.

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
What I should have mentioned as well is that when I connected my printer to my Vista laptop, it was driverless. I tried installing the driver that came with the printer initially, but it wasn't Vista compatible so it never got installed. It certainly looks like I have to go shopping for a new printer. Thanks HP.

Re: HP 1510 and Vista
Masterjed: its obvious that you can't read threads because you do nothing but state the obvious and tell me to do things that I've clearly stated in earlier posts. Now you ask me for the model number which is in the title of the post. So stop wasting my time and yours if you can't help.
