IP4500 strange problem 16 orange flashes
Have a IP4500 that's been working fine.
However, the other day when I was changing an Ink cartridge, I was too fast. The printer wasent finished working when i grabbed the cartridge, so it went insane and made a brutal noise... ![]() I have been searching the net for an answare but no... The thing is that it flashed 16 times.. (out of ink) But, nooo. I've changed it. So after trying and a lot of cursing, I restarted the printer again..... Now, I was kind of ready to buy another printer. removed three cartridges the black ones and the Y. When the head was lifting and moving towards left I grabbed it and pushed it all the way to the leftside. Turned off the printer, pulled the ink handle and sendt it as far left that I could (It moves about another cm when the handle is up i think)Now when I turned in back on and opend the cover The head came back to the middle with red colours... EUREKA... It works :) Who said not to be violent??

Re: IP4500 strange problem 16 orange flashes
Hi!!!
Actually, you were just very lucky. This usually ruins the carriage transport on most printers. Thus, resulting in having a printer that is not worth repairing. However, since it was a last ditch attempt, you lucked out and it worked! Thanks! PS: Definitely not the recommended technique!
