HP Deskjet D2680 Catridge Problem
I just got this new HP Deskjet D2680 printer a few days ago, but now I keep getting an error message stating I have a cartridge problem and I can't print with black ink. It has been working fine up until now. How do I fix this?

I followed step 4 & 5. It didn't help. Changing the settings didn't help and it's not saying its out of ink its just saying "Cartridge Problem". So does anyone have another solution?

1. Perform that step first. 2. Please remove the 2 carts, clean the copper contacts at the back of each carts with a lint-free cloth and insert them back, turn off printer and turn in on again. 3. Please let me know what are the lights flashing on the printer.

Okay, I tried following the steps in the link. It tried to print something to see if it needed cleaning and both the color ink and black ink lights started blinking. Then it went back to just black ink blinking and nothing printed. Then I took the cartridge out and cleaned it then I put it back in and nothing changed.
Edit: Now its both of them blinking. When I open the cartridge door just black ink blinks and when I close the door they both blink. Last edited by LockBoxes; 10-17-2009 at 08:54 AM. |

Hello,
try this: 1. Turn the printer off 2. disconnect the power cord to it 3. wait a few minutes and plug the power cord back in it 4. turn on the printer
