HP Printer driver keeps installing
I get this whenever I unplug my HP photosmart C4385 and reinsert the USB cable again - the OS reinstalls the printer (requests the HP CD if it doesn't find one) and creates a new copy of the device in 'printers' - can I do anything to stop this? Device Manager shows no conflicts

Re: HP printer drivers keep installing
This thread; http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:...&ct=clnk&gl=ca contains this info;
'If you have already installed the printer to work with a USB cable, as I had back in July, it will list your " Photosmart C4380 series" printer. However, you can't just go with that one--you have to add one that says something like " Photosmart C4380 Series [F2C7C1]", and it will also say "Bonjour". I don't know WHY someone had to get fancy and call it Bonjour. It should just say wireless. Anyway, add that, and it will switch over to having this as your new default printer, which is what you want.' Perhaps that is the issue?

Re: HP Printer driver keeps installing
Please go to Start, RUN, type "services.msc". Please look for HP Device Discovery and stop that service, right click and choose Disable. That service is the one that lets you install again the printer whenever you restart or reconnect the printer.
