[SOLVED] Need installation CD for the Lexmark X1180.

I need an installation CD for the Lexmark X1180 XP as I left mine in a Laptop I sold. I have seen downloads for drivers but not the whole thing. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply but I cant get it to work as I am told the device what I am trying connect is unknown and cables not connected. I have also been able to retrieve the CD from the person I sold the laptop but I am getting the same messages. I am trying to install this printer in Virtual box with Vista host and XP guest but it should make no difference as the CD is for XP plus the fact I have installed OK with Linux host and XP guest with no problems. Maybe it could be driver problem what do you think?

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Go here for printer driver and software:

After downloading the printer driver and software, remove any previous installations prior
that you installed, control panel - add remove, restart computer after removal of previous driver and software.
Also clean disc and temp file folders.

For XP windows:

1. Plug in power cord and turn on printer - Do not attach USB cable yet
2. Run the installation of printer driver and software
3. Plug in the USB cable when installation notifies you to
4. After installation completes, reboot computer
5. your done.

For Vista:

1. Hookup the power plug and USB cable - turn on printer
2. Wait for the printer to load its driver, reboot computer
3. Run the setup.exe file that you downloaded, this will update the printer driver
4. restart the computer
5. Your done
