wireless network print system

Hi All,
In my current network, I am using a hp laserjet 1320 connected with USB modem (network print server), which is connected with my local server.

Now, I am shifting to a new office 1 km distance. But, I will attach same network with cable. just linked both office using another switch.

But, then I will browse internet wirelsely in all PC which are domain member. So, then I will also want to use the printer wirelesly(just like now, I m using printer as network print server), I mean wireless network printer, is it possible? If yes, then how?

Re: wireless network print system

Is your printer a Laserjet 1320 or Laserjet 1320n. Laserjet 1320n is intended for network functionality.

Re: wireless network print system

Hi,
Yes, I've mentioned this it's only 1320 (model name is typed on the body). The 'n' is not typed with 1320. Is it not a netwprk printer?

Re: wireless network print system

I doesn't have any wireless capability. The printer only have IEEE-1284b parallel port, if you want to use it as a network printer, it needs to be connected to a computer since the printer doesnt have any Ethernet cable slot which you can connect to a router to be able to use wirelessly.

Re: wireless network print system

Hi,
But, It has a usb connection port, which is now connected with USB (modem) network print server. That USB modem has an IP address & connected with local switch & we are printing through this network prin server.
Some laptops which are connected with wireless internet connection, can print with wirelessly. So, I m asking to do the same work wirelessly in new office.

Re: wireless network print system

Yes it is possible, the modem can generate a ip address for your printer but you need to enable your Printer Sharing properties.
