Printer Installation Problems

I am having problems installing a HP Photosmart 7960 printer on my Dell Dimension 8300 computer running Windows Home Edition Xp Sp3. The installation goes well up to installing the USB drivers. I believe the usb card reader is causing the problem as the following error message points out. It states, Cannot install this Hardware. There was a problem installing this hard ware. Hp Photosmart 7900 USB Device. An error occurred during the installation of this device. The specified service does not exist as as installed service.
The usbprint.sys driver is a Ver.5.1.2600.5512. According to the HP website, it should be Ver. 5.1.2600.0.
I have had problems before installing this printer and I usually reinstalled the OS to correct it.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Download Drivercure to update all drivers (free scan)

I tried the driver scan but I still have the same problem. It didn't fix it.
