Question about inkjets
How likely is it for an inkjet printer to work after being unused for 7 months?
I have a Lexmark X2690 and used it until all the ink ran out from its stock cartridge, and kept it in storage for 7 months. I don't want to go out and buy a $20 ink cartridge just to see that the printer won't print well because the print head is all clogged or whatever. So how likely is it that it will still print with good quality (no streaks, etc.)? Thank you very much in advance!

Re: Question about inkjets
There is a cleaning agent you can put through the heads to try and clean them. This however does involve wasting ink to get it right.
I ended up giving up and buying a new printer (with ink) cheaper than the ink refills I was buying for the old printer !!

Re: Question about inkjets
Its really hard that after six or seven months put in storage ,it will work because most of the time ,after some time put in storage and without use it,it will dry and will not work.Try to shake cartridge, may be this will work.

Re: Question about inkjets
Yes I agree, and also it has a life span or expected to work perfect within that period of time. A good example is a certain model of a printer only handles 150 printjobs a day, exceeding that printjobs, it more likely you will encounter a poor print quality after a few months.
