hp psc 1200 series all in one

i am using a hp 1200 printer/scanner/copier .
why does all the lights in the pannel board in 'on' position when connected to the power line. please explain as i am unable to operate this machine its about 3years old

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Go here for driver and software:

Download:
Driver - HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver 166.14MB
Do the first 7 updates also - some you may not need, im not sure.

1. Unplug the printer and disconnect from pc the USB cable
2. Uninstall the driver and software from add/remove in control panel, clean disc,
clean temp fiolders, reboot pc
3. Plug in the printer and turn it on - dont connect the USB cable yet
4. Install the printer driver and software
5. Connect the USB cable when the installation tells you to
6. After installation completes, reboot pc
7. Install any of the updates that are needed
8. reboot pc
9. clean disc. clean temp folders
10. your done
