Printer wont connect with computer :|

My HP Laserjet 1010can print when I press the button for it to print out a test page

But when I print a document or even try a test page from my computer, it doesn't work

The cable is connected and the printer is on so I don't know what's wrong. I tried using the troubleshooter but it said that "helpctr" was unavailable. My printer was working just fine before until it got a paper jam. After I took it out, the printer didn't work anymore

Any help?

Goi here for driver and software:

Disconnect printer from pc and turn it off
Uninstall the printer driver and software through add/remove
clean disc
clean temp folders
reboot pc

1. Plug in power cord and turn printer on - do not connect the USB cable yet
2. Install the printer driver and software
3. Connect the USB cable when installation notifies you to
4. After installation completes, reboot pc

Re: Printer wont connect with computer :|

Oh thank you :D I'll try this ASAP,

I'm guessing I can only edit posts within a set amount of time? Reinstalling my printer might take 1-2 days so I'd like to apologize for any future double posts :)

Thanks again for helping me :D
