Problems with Canon pixma ip1500

Hello,

I'm having trouble printing with my canon printer (pixma ip1500). It was working a few days ago but now the printer seems like its printing (the print head goes through the motions of printing) but no words are actually printed on the paper. I deleted the printer and reinstalled the driver but that did not work. I also replaced both the black and color ink cartridges but that did not work. Does anyone know what is wrong or what I can do to fix the problem?

I tried printing again, this time in all color and it prints in color. The black still doesn't work. Any ideas?

in the maintenance tab run the head cleaner

Thank you for your reply. I tried what you said but it did not work...the weird thing is that after I ran the head cleaner I did a nozzle check and the test page printed out fine.
