Protection Fault

Don't think it is really a printer error-but cannot print. CKelly is having same problem. Function address 0x686388a9 caused a protection fault 0xc0000094 and ANY program I try to print from will display an error message and close. Spooler Subsystem App error pops up when the printer is turned on/off. Peachtree will not email from its Email writer v2 - it shuts down. COM3 port is missing. No viruses, this happened after a ton of MS Office 2007 updates on June 9, 2009 (maybe a coincidence) but MS Word will not even open at all. I posted in the Drivers Forum thinking this was a driver issue. I need my COM3 Port back.

Re: Protection Fault

The printer is OKI C5150n. That is what gives the Function address error when I click on Properties. My accounting program has a Peachtree E-mail Writer v2, I can not use that either, but it will let me view properties. In one of the diagnostic reports (which I probably could never find again) I noticed the OPHA_ui.dll listed in MS Office Word 2007. That also shows up as a module (I believe) in my Event listings. This all seems to have happened after the group of MS Office Suite and other Office updates on June 9. And my modem lists COM3 as the port but the query report comes back with AT#=? No Command, or something similar. It was working fine on June 5.

Uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

Go here for driver:

Note: after driver installation, reboot pc

Thumbs Up Re: Protection Fault

Thank you for the link. Have new drivers now. Actually had to establish a new user account (my son did this) to force some settings to cooperate. He set up a dial-up connection there which opened the stuck COM3 port and deleted the old printer drivers; went to the OKIdata Link and got the new drivers.

PROBLEM SOLVED- but I don't know where the icon is that I saw in my travels through this site to let people know that "another job well done" has been accomplished.
