Hey guys, I'm at work and I'm trying to install a Lexmark T522 on a desktop for store use.
I work at one of the smaller locally owned sears stores and we have all of our paper and ink paid for through sears. All the signs we have to print, daily reports, load sheets, delivery reports, etc... but we need to have a store desktop available for Internet use, placing orders, creating local flyers, working in Microsoft office, and things like that. So our problem is that the Lexmark T522 is hooked up to the sears computer which runs a windows 2000 OS (sears, man, you cant teach and old dog new tricks), and is mainly used for a DOS like application called Local Store Systems. Local store systems is where we print all of the daily reports, load sheets, delivery reports, etc... and it is connected to the sears network, their Internet and the lexmark T522 (it is connected by a network cable which seems a little odd.) So for awhile now we have been using a run of the mill HP Deskjet on the internet PC (which is running XP.) Our main problem seems to be that we go through ink like a hooker goes through crack. I mean it seems like we have to buy it every single week. Which gets pricey as hell, especially for my buddy who owns the store. And it occurred to me the other day as I was thinking about this that the LExmark T522 has a usb port on the back, how genius is that! We tap into that, get it to Plug and Play, how easy is that!!! So we went out and bought the cable, hooked everything up, turned everything on! and.... nothing happened. I was expecting the "Found New Hardware, Hardware ready to install" dialog. But I got nothing. So I went online to search for a driver, and I went straight to lexmark where I downloaded what i thought were the drivers. So windows told me that everything was installed successfully but it would not print a test page. It ALWAYS failed to print. Does anyone here MAYBE know how to get a Lexmark T522 running on a windows XP system through a USB connection? Thanks in Advance, Ryan |

Re: Unusual Problem...Lexmark T522
Hello and Welcome to TSF,
Go here: http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/do.../downloads.cgi Note: you will need driver, firmware, software, utility where it says "Choose another download type" 1. unplug usb cable from printer, leave printer on 2. install MPWN2K5E.EXE 3. plug in the usb cable when the installation tells you to 4. after it completes, reboot pc 5. install the other necessary software, utilities also.
