Mistake [SOLVED] HP OfficeJet 6310 All in One

I have done everything I can to get this lousy printer to scan or fax. I paid for a new disk to load the software and it still does not work. I tried using paint. Nothing I do works. I have Vista HOme Premiun but this printer does not even work on my laptop with XP Pro.

Re: HP OfficeJet 6310 All-in-One Scanner

Hello and Welcome to TSF nmsundance,

You need to start your own thread next time, I just stumbled across this one
to find out the original poster has solved their problem.

Go here for the driver and software:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=1119598

1. turn off printer and disconnect usb cable
2. uninstall driver and software from add/remove in control panel
3. reboot pc
4. turn on printer
5. install driver and software and updates
6. connect usb cable when asked to from installation
7. reboot pc inbetween each installation.

Re: HP OfficeJet 6310 All-in-One Scanner

Throw it out. The scanner bed does not work and unless it is still under warranty HP will only offer to sell you a J6480 for $149 including next day delivery, if you really make a fuss. I got it on Monday and it WORKS! THe 6310 is a good printer and I am giving it to my sone in college. I worked with 4 different techs at HP and none of them have a clue and never suggest it is a hardware problem. After 3+hours I can assure you, it is the scanner bed. Take it apart, who knows maybe it is not even hooked up to anything. We have a software company and after 30 yrs of printer problems I know this is a dead issue. Sorry!!
