Hello -
I have a Win XP machine connected to a networked Savin 4022 printer, with up to date drivers, that has a hung Java print job from a net application. Neither the owner or local administrators can remove the job, nor extended power cycle. The jobs correctly read out in the Printer queue, but are not listed in the spooler of the machine on the local computer. So net stop spooler on the local computer isn't an option. Can anyone help me delete this job, and does anyone know where the spooler for Java print jobs is stored? |

Re: Cannot delete Java print job from spooler
Hello and Welcome to TSF,
Have you tried simply turning off the printer and disconnecting the usb cable to clear it? reboot pc that is connected to it, then turn it off and reconnect the usb cable back up to it then, check for any updates to the printer.

Re: Cannot delete Java print job from spooler
I agree with Riskyone101. By doing this it frees up the port. If that does not work go to the following folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS and delete the temp file in the Printers Folder. That will clear the job out, but you will still have to shut down PC, Shut down printer, plug printer back in, turn on Printer, turn on PC, all in that order.

Re: Cannot delete Java print job from spooler
"Have you tried simply turning off the printer and disconnecting the usb cable to clear it?"
.... o.O I no know what you saying. Is this some strange American joke? Solution great Vladimir found was with network administrators. Network administrators restarted print server, it contain cache of the file on server side. Great Vladimir had hoped that problem such as these could be fixed without contacting BOFH, but Vladimir bring this back on BOFH and say "horrid server, horrid configuration." But Great Vladimir became sad after this because many customers call then and ask why printing interrupted? Great Vladimir merely shake his head in sadness. |
