Fix HP 1610 All in One Printer feed, jam problems

Printer suddenly will not feed paper; rollers do not move; message either says out of paper, print cartridge stalled or carriage jam. I have tried all kinds of remedies such as cleaning out back for a jam, replacing cartridges, etc. but nothing has helped.

Try unplugging the printer for about 2 minutes and then powering back up. If you can find a setting in the menu called restore factory defaults do that before power cycling. FYI, hp printers do not like anything but hp cartridges. If you have other cartridges installed, remove and replace with genuine hp.

Thanks for your reply. When I try to reset defaults, the printer begins to align cartridges, then tells me I am out of paper, which I am not! Because I am "out of paper", I cannot do anything.

Hello,

Are you able to open the top of the printer and check for paper between the rollers
where the ink cartridges slide back and forth on at the corners?
