[SOLVED] Lexmark Color Jetprinter 1000 carttirdge setup problem

I obtiand a used Lexmark Color Jetprinter 1000. I lacked the install disk, so I had to google and download the drivers for it. I get the computer to recognisee the printer and have it show up on the Printers and Faxes group.

The things coms up about catridge set up, so I hit ok. It shows that, somehow, there are supposed to be where the printer has 2 catridge holders in the printer. Bacl and color (82 - 83) But when I manually check the printer cartidge inside of the computer, the unit itself is only capable of holding only 1 cartidge. There is only one space at all, and there is a cartidge there. It is a 13619HC Color cartidge.

The program prompt that opens up about the setup still shows that there is "supposed" to be 2 cartidge holders when the unit is not in anyway capable of that.

Re: Lexmark Color Jetprinter 1000 carttirdge setup problem

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Did you go here for the driver: CJ201100SE.EXE
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/do.../downloads.cgi

Note: as far as I can see its only a color Jetprinter.

After installing the driver, did you reboot pc?

Re: Lexmark Color Jetprinter 1000 carttirdge setup problem

I knew it was supposed to only be one color cartridge, but the prompt would bring up something about 2 cartridges, a black and a color. It was getting me frustrated.

But thanks very much for the link. I did this and it works now. The printer has the correct cartridge specs and print jobs go through to it like it should.
