Epson LQ2180
Dear Forum,
I have an Epson LQ2180 with ethernet port which looks does not work properly. The printer is visible on the network, I have also set the IP address of it, I can configure using the web based configuration interface etc. The only thing I am not able to do with it is to print with it... Whenever I try to print it prints garbage... The driver is from the EPSON website and the result in the printing is the same if I use the internet printing or an Epson port. I tried with Windows XP and 2003 with the same catastrophic result... Can anybody of you help me? Thanks |

Re: Epson LQ2180
The usual cause of garbage printing is:
a) faulty drivers (most likely) b) print overun (lack of ram, can be temporarily resolved by lowering print resolution or by selecting PRINT DIRECTLY TO PRINTER from the printing preferences in your printer properties) c) defective cable/port (in this case if you are able to ping the printer but printing garbage it is still possible that a hub could be affecting the printing. d) anything else I dont know this printer model but if it is a monochrome printer, go to add printer, select HP, model IIP, and then once its added go to the ports in the printer properties and change the port to standard TCP/IP with the IP address of the printer, if you still get garbage print it might not be the drivers, if you get a nice print just keep those drivers they will work fine with most dos/windows based applications.
