error code
Have new brother mfc-665cw. this is my second one. the first worked just fine. first thing i get out of the box is a code" unable to init. 40." i hear a little noise after installing the print cartriges and then nothing. can anyone help on this or experienced the same problem. I can take it back!

when you say a little noise could it be the cartridge carriage failing to move all the way from right to left?
It sounds like a failure from the printheads to communicate with the cartridge but at the same time if there was a weird noise it could be a printer carriage issue. A failing carriage will make a very annoying clicking noise.
