MP 610 Canon

My canon printer was working perfect, I have a laptop with Windows Vista. I also loaded Microsoft XP, on, but it messed around with my email so I removed it. My printer often came up with the message that there is an unknown device plugged into USB. I was informed to remove the printer and reinstall, however when plugginf USB back into laptop, it now comes up with USB Device not recognised, and will not auto run, also when I attempted to print, it will say device not found. Please help me. What can I do to get the printer running. I am not a computer whizz, so please laymens terms. Thanks, Dawn

mp 610 cannon . hi try going to start icon in left lower corner of your screen click on it a tab will pop up you will see computer on the righthand side of this click on this it will show what is pluged in right click on on the usb which has your printer coneced to it options at the top of this box will change open or run should help. or sytem restore to a date earlier than your problem hope this helps my connon wont even power up cheers and good luck ps im no wiz either so dont be afraid.
