Epson Scanner "Copy Center" won't load

I have an Epson Perfection 2580 Photo scanner and an Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner. I just bought the latter scanner because the software included with the 2580 would NOT load the Copy Center app. Epson's tech support simply told me to reinstall the machine, but I tried that six times and it didn't help.

So I bought the V500 and installed it today. Once again, the software would not load the Copy Center app. Everything else loads and functions properly. I can acquire scans using IrfanView.

I need the Copy Center as I use the scanner often as a copy machine. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

Does anyone know what the Copy Center .exe file name is?

My system includes a Dell Dimension 8100, XP Pro SP/2, and an HP Photosmart 8150 printer.
