HP C-4250 "Print Cartr missing or not det'd"

I have just refilled the HP 75 color cartridge in my C-4250 printer and when
I got it back in place, it gives the legend "print cartridge missing or not
detected". I have cleaned all contacts and done all I can to get it to
operate, but it won't print. I have restarted and rebooted and am not out
of ideas. I have refilled many cartridges before with no problems.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Try taking the cartridge out of the printer, both cartridges, then turning off the printer, also unplug the power, wait for 10-15 minutes, plug the power cord back in, turn on the printer, and re-install the cartridges. I have heard that this sometimes works, I have not tried it myself as of yet.

These cartridges are relatively new, and cartridge refillers/remanufacturers are researching recycling problems as they happen. If you could post back and let us know how it goes we'd appreciate it. Maybe others out there have a work around for you.

There is a possibility of a built in fuse in the cartridge electronics, which blows if run empty, this also could be your problem, if so then the cartridge is no good. Try to refill, before it runs empty.

I have done a few of these for an all in one HP, so far they are working fine.

Thanks very much for the prompt reply.
I followed the instructions you posted to the letter, but
it didn't work. I have now resigned myself to the fact that
the only way to get my printer back up and running is to
get a new cartridge.
