rtdrvmon.exe(Moved from Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help)
Hi
This is my first post on this site. I'm not sure if it's in the right area, but I'm not sure if the problem is Malware. I am running Comodo Firewall, on my system, and I have a file in the files for review section that is titled rtdrvmon.exe I have clicked the lookup tab, and it comes back as an unknown file. I have also submitted the file to Comodo for review, but it doesn't seem to send. Therefore I am worried it may be some kind of malware program running in the background. Please can you shed some light on this, and let me know if worrying about nothing. Many thanks. Lee

Re: rtdrvmon.exe
Hello Lee and welcome to TSF
Do you have a Lexmark Printer, if so, read below. Rtdrvmon.exe is a low-level scanner driver that enables scanning for the Lexmark X1150 and other Lexmark All-In-One devices. For an explanation of its behavior, please refer to the information below. * The software needs this file in order to perform scanning operations, which is why the software re-extracts the file when it detects that it has been deleted. After re-extraction, the file is placed in the \windows\temp folder. The file is embedded as a resource in one of the .DLLs and is unpacked as required on the system. http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/...08&relevance=1 |

Re: rtdrvmon.exe
Hi The Bruce
Thanks for getting back to me. I used to have a Lexmark X1150 All in one printer, but I don't have it anymore. I unistalled the software when I changed printers, but obviously this file has remained. It sounds like it's nothing to worry about from the info you have given me, but is there any way I can get rid of this file if it's no longer needed. I am using a Brother All in one printer now, so I assume this file is sitting on my pc unused. |
