Lexmark x2600 3-in-1

When I try to scan my text documents my printer tries to use Optical Character Recognition software that came with the printer disk. When I scan it comes up with an error saying that my OCR files are corrupt. I have reinstalled the printer twice and have done all of the suggested actions given by the printer. I can not find a way to scan without using the OCR software so I am unable to scan anything at the moment. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

I'm not having that particular problem, but something simliar. I can't get it to reduce the size of the scans. It won't scan in kb, just mb which of course is CRAZY!

Hello and Welcome to TSF keygiwawah,

You will need to start your own thread jccats, as out of
politeness for the original thread starter here please, ty.

Go here and scan with antimalwarebytes:
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyte...=dl&tag=button

1. Run a full scan

Go here for the driver and software for the printer: (vista) 2008
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/do.../downloads.cgi

Go here for printer driver and software: (Ubuntu) Jan. 2009
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/do.../downloads.cgi

1. turn off pc, turn off printer, disconnect usb cable, turn on printer, bootup pc
2. add/remove in control panel, uninstall the printer and software
3. check program files folder and make sure folder has been deleted or delete it now.
4. reboot pc
5. install the printer driver and software
6. connect usb cable or when installation tells you to
7. after installation completes, reboot pc
