epson cx6600 won't scan anymore
My cx6600 all-in-one has been scanning just fine for years. I always scan to my PC (XP). I use the "Epson Scan" software. Now, when I try to scan I get nothing -- no clicks, beeps, whirrs, & no pop-up dialogue box on the PC screen.
I have turned the printer off & on again, unplugged it, closed all other applications on the computer. Still nada. Need help, please. |

There are two things you can try right now:
Re-install your printer driver. It is possible that the driver somehow got corrupted. The printer driver download can be found at: http://www.epson.ca/cgi-bin/ceStore/...atform=Windows The second download on the list looks like the best one. If this did not work, the driver for the USB port the printer is connected to is likely corrupted. Disconnect your device and follow these instructions EXACTLY. (XP_only) Go to your device manager. Start=>Settings=>Control Panel System=>Hardware tab=>Device Manager See if there are any yellow exclamation point or red X icons. If either of these icons appear next to a USB port (under Universal Serial Bus controllers), this indicates the USB port is experiencing problems. Right-click the port and select Properties. Under Device Status, note if there are any problems. If there are, run the Troubleshooter. If no problems are listed, or if the Troubleshooter was unable to help you, you will need to take some rather drastic action. Delete the USB port that is experiencing difficulty and immediately restart. This may seem counter-productive, but when Windows discovers the missing driver, a brand-new driver will be pulled from the protected system cache and re-installed. Windows may ask for an install CD, it is safe to place the CD in the drive once Windows is loaded or if the Recovery Console is displayed. At no other time should you place the Windows install CD in the drive unless you don't care about your data. [I'm sure you knew that, but I like to be sure ] Post back whether you were successful or not.
