Epson Stylus Photo 1270

The printer when you try to print gives the error that it is out of paper. The printer is not out of paper. I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer but still has the error. Can you help?

I have the same problem - with the Epson Stylus CX5000 - I think it's a sensor that doesn't work but don't know how to disengage the sensor - or where it is. It's brand new, but out of warranty because we never took it out of the box until now.

Re: Epson Stylus Photo 1270

Printers have some sort of detectors in its paper trays to see if there is paper in it. This is usually a microswitch (you'll see a little finger in the bottom of the paper slot/tray) or a photoswitch (a small light and a photodetector on either side of the bottom of the paper). Try toggling that switch & also, fan paper, and reduce the amount of paper. This might work.

Re: Epson Stylus Photo 1270

'nother problem could be a sliver of paper or something else that's preventing the printer from sensing paper.

Also, sometimes the "feed dog" (to borrow a sewing term) can get dirty or slippery.
