HP 5850w intermittent wireless connectivity problem
I have been using an HP 5850w printer as a mobile printer in my truck for about 4 years. I have an ad hoc wireless connection from my Fujitsu T-3020 PC tablet notebook to the printer. Recently I have been having trouble maintaining the wireless connection even though I am only 2-3 feet from the notebook to the printer.
When I turn on the printer and notebook, the wireless connection is always quickly established. Sometimes no problems printing. Other times I will start printing a document, lose wireless connection causing the printer to stop printing, and then the wireless connection will be automatically re-established. Does the wireless connection on a printer wear out with use over time? This problem has only started the last few months. The printer prints fine as long as it maintains the connection. I also have an HP 7410 multifunction printer in my office that I connect to with an ad hoc wireless connection from about 15 feet away on a different story with no problems with the same notebook. The problem with the 5850 developed after I started using the 7410 but about 6-9 months after initial use. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Jim |
