HP PSC 2179 Will Not Print

Hi
I have an HP PSC 2179 printer atached to a computer running Windows XP and the printer will not print from this PC. It has been on this PC for over a year with no problems. It just suddenly stopped one day. If you run a check page from the printer it will print correctly a test page. If you ask it to do the same from the PC it starts, feeds the paper, sets the cartridges across then ejects the clean paper. I have changed the cartridges.
I then deleted and reinstalled the software but no difference.The PC talks to the printer and vice versa as instructions are given etc but no ink is applied to the page in colour of B/W

I have another PC also running XP and installed the software on that and it works fine. When I attach an old HP Deskjet 720C to my main PC that works fine

I have troubleshooted and tried everything I could think of.

Now stumped so any help would be appreciated
