Re: Epson 6400 Will not Print Black
Did you remove the tape from the black cartridge? It's amazing how many times people, including me, have forgotten to the do that. The tape covers a tiny air hole which is needed. If no air gets in, no ink gets out. If you have removed the tape and it still doesnt work, the problem is either the cartridge itself is dried out or the print head is clogged. Do you see ink coming out of the cartridge? When you shake it, do you hear ink slosh around inside? If not, you have a bad cartridge. If yes, your heads are clogged. Try dropping some rubbing alcohol into the nozzle on the printer where the black ink goes. Wait a while for it to unclog the head and evaporate. Then try printing and see if it got any better.
For cheap compatible ink cartridges which work well try http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp I've been using them for years. |
