More Epson "Printer Error" woes on the Epson Stylus Scan 2500
In a previous thread regarding the Printer Error message on startup of Epson printers I saw the following in another thread:
Greetings amikayla, The above procedure does work. I have used it myself successfuly. Try this method: Press and HOLD all following buttons: Power, Load/Eject, Stop, B&W, Color. Continue to hold the buttons until "Init Eeprom" appears on the printer screen. Press Color button to clear protection counter. Well I got this printer used. No software. Crappy manual. And I pressed buttons til my hands hurt. This thing did a self test once and not much since. I'm convinced there is nothing wrong with it and that there are no paper jams because I shined a flashlight up inside the paper path. The only thing holding the power switch does is turn it off. How do these things get manufactured? The manual is so poor that the control panel buttons and functions are not referenced in the book. Example: I looked up Load/Eject button in the index and there is no entry. Ditto the front panel graphic. |
