Printer not responding
I have a Canon Pixma MP500 that had been working fine. Had uninstalled a free version of AVG software, and installed free Avast. Didn't like Avast, so I uninstalled it and installed the newest version of free AVG. I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of Avast. I'm concerned that using Revo to uninstall might have messed with the registry. The symptom is that I can't print - getting "Printer does not respond" message when trying. Have tried troubleshooting – and also not able to print from WordPad or Notepad. I've re-installed printer and updated driver - nothing has helped. I would like to avoid re-formatting the hd if possible. I'm clueless about the significance of printer ports. Any suggestions?
