Can Not Install HP Photosmart C5100

my sister has a hp photosmart c5100 all in one printer. i gave her a new pc on saturday night, ever since then the printer will not install. the printer was installed on her old pc that has also has windows xp on it. i have tried using different usb ports, but nothing. the pc sees the printer, and i try and install the software from the cd, and i get the error that i attached. so if anyone has any ideas that would be great

Do the USB ports on your sister's printer work with OTHER USB devices (other printers, keyboards, mice, cameras, external hard drives, flash drives, etc.)? If not, the problem is USB related and NOT a problem with the printer. If the USB ports on her PC DO work with other USB devices,

all the usb ports work on her pc. I plugged her flash drive into every single port and it works. Her mouse is also a usb and it works. thanks for the links, i'll have to give it shot, and let you know next week.

Nothing worked

The printer will still not install on the new pc. I doubled checked all the usb ports to make sure they work, and they do. I checked with HP and Windows to see if any updates were needed, but there isn't. I did find some information on HP about deleting some of the registry keys and creating new ones. I tried that too, but nothing. The printer worked completely fine on the old pc, so I"m just don't get why it won't work on the new one. So any more ideas would be great.

The printer never did work on the new XP machine i gave her. She ended up getting a new laptop with Vista, and it works like a charm. Still no idea why it worked on the old XP machine and not the other one...
