[SOLVED] Epson Stylus Scan 2500 needs a part
This is weird.
I got a used printer free. It was a while before I set it up. Today I see it has no ink tray or holder to put the cartridges in. Where would such a part be? The printer is long out of production I think. |

Here is the service manual. It should give you the part # you need.

Re: Epson Stylus Scan 2500 needs a part
You might also just contact one of Epson's parts distributors listed here if you're in the U.S.:
Contact an authorized Epson parts distributor to purchase replacement parts. Compass Micro, Inc. (503)408-8725 or (800)388-8595 Micrologic Systems, Inc. (903)561-0007 National Parts Depot (845)469-4800 or (800)524-8338 TSAworld, Inc. (770)417-2323 or (800)633-6626 Vance Baldwin Electronics (954)723-9191 or (800)432-8542 Overall, I buy most of my Epson parts from Compass, but you are going to find that inkjet parts availability is poor. Cheap new printers = no support, no parts. If you are in an area like DFW, Austin, etc. with a robust tech industry, you are likely to do better with some small service company that specializes in printer service.

Re: Epson Stylus Scan 2500 needs a part
You can mark this one solved.
My face is red. I talked to the previous owner who gave me the unit and from there learned that there were some buttons to push to make the printer show the ink carriage. There was no missing part, just lots of confusion as to how to get it to cooperate. It's still not printing real well. The last good piece of print it did was the self test. It may need ink. But I think laser printers are the way to go-- if it's not free.

Re: Epson Stylus Scan 2500 needs a part
Thanks for checking back with us.
I am glad it worked out the way it did. Inkjet printers are not made to be worked on. Even the manufactor will send you another one instead of fixing yours.

Re: [SOLVED] Epson Stylus Scan 2500 needs a part
I have some extra third party ink cartridges to fool around with.
I would not invest much in it-- no decent print quality yet. Maybe it's paper feed or something else. Everything that does print is washed out. If laser toners weren't as much as the printer I'd have one by now. |
