Brother MFC-580 color message
I don't use my Brother mfc 580 much, and so after a while when I come to use it the message comes up telling me 'ink empty black'... when there is plenty of color left in the reservoir.
Is there a way to reset this warning so I can use the printer without buying a new cartridge? |

Re: Brother MFC-580 color message
Ben Bosworth,
Not sure about your Brother model, but many inkjet printers, such as the Epson models, have a programmable flash chip on the cartridges that the printer writes code to when it has decided the ink cartridge is empty. This prevents users from re-filling the cartridges. There ARE ways around this (at least on the Epson models). You can purchase a cartridge chip "resetter" that re-programs the chip so the printer sees the cartridge as new. Check out: http://www.inkjetcartridges.com/_brother.html - John
