HP prevents Standby & Shut down
Hi all,
Here's the problem. My new HP F2180 all-in-one (why did I ever buy this thing!) has been having functional problems since I bought it last week. Now, (1) my Windows Explorer in XP SP2 wont open files (that's another issue) AND I get delays and sometimes errors to turn off the computer. Error messsages (to shut off the device) come up each time. Sometimes the computer can close, sometimes the error message hangs it. Below are the Event Error messages. Help please? Event Type: Information Event Source: hpqcxs08 Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 04-05-08 Time: 7:26:04 AM User: N/A Computer: PRABHA Description: The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( hpqcxs08 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started. Re: HP prevents Standby & Shut down
Did you previously have another HP printer? If so, this could be causing some problems. Make sure that all the software has uninstalled, uninstall your new printer too, then do a fresh install.
