My OS is Windows XP I recently inherited a HP Laserjet 5. Im trying to network it like my HP2600N I downloaded drivers from the web which allow me to load inf files in the find h/w section of XP control panel.
On the printer I have enabled tcp/ip and disabled "Novel Network" any body had sucess bring a dinosaur on the network? Worst case I hardwire with a parallel port connector aargh.. |

Re: HP Laserjet 5
first of all you need to do a cold reset of the machine this will bring back the printer to the factory defaults of both printer and jetdirect.
You need to configure the printer according to the ip address convention you have setup most common is 10.0.0.0 or 192.168.0 you also need to set up the jetdirect from the control panel. If you dont know how to do that you can find the instructions from the hp website. |
