My cx5400 just developed a strange error light problem.
I installed a new cartride, printed a few pages and got an error light saying no ink cartridges.I've replace all the carts twice and reset them also.tried leaving it unplugged for 24 hours.Nothing seems to work. Any ideas? |

Re: CX5400 Epson error light w/ new cartridges
Sad, to say, I quit selling Epson inkjet printers about 3 years ago because of reliability problems. You probably have a bad logic board which essentially means tossing the unit.
Generally these days, I sell Canon. Good print quality, low cost per page, and the drivers aren't buggy and don't consume a ton of system resources; unlike HP's stuff.

Re: CX5400 Epson error light w/ new cartridges
I will miss my Epson its prints were great! I am an artist and I reproduce lots of art work and old pictures I used in my work.
How does the Canon compare in color and resolution? |

Re: CX5400 Epson error light w/ new cartridges
The logic board is the primary electronic component of the printer, like a motherboard for a computer. You can read reviews of Canons on virtually any site like Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, ZDNet, etc. and I'm sure you can find reviews on sites that are more directly related to your business.
My complaints about HP products are primarily related to their consumer/SOHO software. If you look at some of their upper end, high-volume inkjets, they have very nice offerings. But I buy Canon for myself, and still sell more Canon than HP.
