Dell AIO 942 Communication Problem
I have a Dell AIO 942 printer. Worked great with my dell computer. Recently, I just updated my motherboard and now my printer will not work. My computer recognizes it, i've installed the latest driver, and I can set it as my default printer, but when I try to print, it tells me I may have a communication error. It's USB connected, I'm using XP, and I have an ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 LGA 775 VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard.

I have the same problem with an AIO Hewlett Packard (concerns faxing).
Technical support is totally ignorant (both from the USA and from France). But it is true that it doesn't seem commun, as judged by the number of help messages . I guess it could come from installing/uninstalling some software, or using registry reparation or windows reparation tools .I'm using CCleaner and AdvancedWindowsCare, occasionnally some free demo tools. Maybe installing some demo versions which would at a certain moment use the printer could be responsible too. I think producers should be aware of that and offer the solutions (NB:uninstalling and reinstalling the printer didn't change anything) |

I have the same problem. Hard drive crashed on a Dell Dimension desk top so new hard drive was installed. All software loaded with operating system windows XP. However, the Dell Printer 942 will not work with the computer as it did before. I have tried all the troubleshooting techniques and yet it still says it is not communicating....though I know the connection is there because I can scan a document and see it on the monitor. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
