HP LSJ 9040n not responding

i have a network hp laserjet 9040n printer,its is connected to my network and pcs are connected to it via the stadard tcp/ip port.this has been working for the pass 8-12 months very well.
ONLY RECENTLY I DISCOVERED THAT WHEN U SEND JOB TO THE PRINTER,IT WILL NOT RESPOND,AFTER SOMETIME I WILL GET THE ERROR 'DOCUMENT FAILED TO PRINT'.BUT WHEN I RESTART THE PRINTER THE DOCUMENT WILL START TO PRINT.
I HAVE CHANGED THE CABLE ,PRINT CONFIGURATION PAGE SUCCESFULLY YET NO RESULT
I HAVE TRIED TO COLD RESET BUT THE PRINTER WONT ALLOW ME.
PEOPLE HELP OUT QUICKLY MY CLIENT ARE RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE
