Create virtula USB port, point it to ip address
Hello
I might be the dumbest user yet ![]() But i have a HP Photosmart C4380 in my possession. Today i got a printserver to make this printer available on the network. And yes i know that this printer is equipped with wireless connection, but i have no wireless computers or receivers, so i will have to manage with cabel for now. So i inserted the HP software that came with the printer but no printer can be found ![]() Although the program says enter the ip address of the networkprinter. After talking to an online technician at HP he confirmed my worst fears that the software isn't compatible with a network sollution. I can still print but i can't use the special functions for scanning, making copys and so on over the network ![]() I know that there are tons of software to share a usb port to the network but not point it towards a ipaddress So my quest is now to find a way to fool my software that i have a printer attached to a virtual usb port that really points to a ipaddress on the network. Is there anyone that has got any clue if this is possible?
