Epson R280 Problem in XP PrintCD Software

I just purchased an Epson R280 Hi-Def printer. I liked the idea that I could print directly to a CD or DVD... The only problem is that I can't... I installed the EPSON SUPPLID application, and was immediately met with an error message stating that a .dll file was missing. After locating that file on the web and installing same, I can get into the app, and design a disk label. However, upon trying to print on the disk, I get a new error message saying "The EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed". I have scoured the web and have not found a suitable fix for this under XP. I have contacted Epson, and they claim it's not their problem, despite the fact that this problem has festered since about 2005....

I'm at wit's end, and would love some guidance on getting this app to function.

TIA!

Re: Epson R280 Problem in XP PrintCD Software

I was getting the "The EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed" message while trying to print a disc label.
I was on the phone with Epson Support for about an hour after being escalated to the 3rd level of support.......
Be sure you have the printer driver and Epson Print CD software already installed.
Here's how to fix this problem:
1. Go to the Epson website and download the latest version of EasyPrint for your printer and windows operating system.
2. Delete the following files found in \windows\system32\...
PICEntry.dll
PICSDK.dll
PICSDK.ini
PICSDK2.dll
3. Extract and install EasyPrint downloaded in step 1. This will install new versions of the files deleted in step 2. If you don't delete those files, they will not be replaced.

Good Luck!
